It responds to a situation many of us find ourselves in: in the fear of war and the uncertainty of tomorrow. It carries with it the message of a relationship with the Mother of God,” says director Jan Sobierajski to Vatican News.
The Way of Consecration
The creators guide the viewer through the life of Karol Wojtyła – from childhood to his last moments – showing how Marian devotion was the foundation of his spiritual path. The Pope’s relationship with Mary was not just a theological idea, but a real experience that guided him through the most difficult moments of his life. “This is an inspiring story that gives us a living testimony and the result of entrusting oneself to the Mother of God. On this basis, we can understand how important Jesus’ words were when he gave us Mary as our Mother on the cross,” says Jan Sobierajski. He adds that it was thanks to Mary that John Paul II was able to transcend human limitations and become a great Saint.

Places of Encounter
The film’s narrative is based on places particularly associated with the presence of Mary and the Pope’s life – such as Fatima, Jasna Góra, and Gietrzwałd. It was there, as the director says, that the Holy Father’s spirituality was shaped. “These were milestones that marked subsequent, important moments in the life of this greatest Pole,” notes Jan Sobierajski.
The creator emphasizes that today these events form a coherent whole, revealing an “undiscovered, mystical mystery” that can be an inspiration for contemporary man.

Universal Message
The film is aimed not only at believers but at all who seek meaning and hope. The life story of the Polish Pope becomes a mirror of human experience. “This is a picture of each of our lives, and therefore every viewer, regardless of their stage of development, will be able to identify with the protagonist of this production,” says the director.
As Sobierajski emphasizes, the key message of the film is the discovery of a personal relationship with Mary: “She is the Mother not only of the Pope, but also of us.”
