"Borders/Granice" a photo exhibition & live audio-video web interaction with an identical twin-exhibition in the Pauza Gallery Krakow/ Poland presented by Piotr Sikora & Piotr Bondarczyk as part of the De Lamar Mansion Salon of Arts & Ideas at the Consulate General of Poland in New York. Saturday, January 20, 2007, 2 PM

New York, NY, January 10, 2007 – The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland is pleased to announce a special event: "Borders/Granice" – a photo exhibition & live audio-video web interaction with an identical twin-exhibition in Krakow, Poland, on view for one afternoon only, on January 20, 2007 at 2 PM. This exhibition presenting the works of two Polish artists Piotr Sikora and Piotr Bondarczyk will be shown in the salons of the De Lamar Mansion, a magnificent gem of Beaux-Arts style architecture, located on the corner of Madison Avenue and 37th Street. The event includes a reception and open bar. It is free and open to the public, however all attendees must RSVP to guarantee admittance.

This single day exhibition is the first event this year in a series of cultural projects at the De Lamar Mansion.  The De Lamar Mansion Salon of Arts & Ideas was inaugurated in October 2006 with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of this Beaux-Arts period masterpiece of residential architecture that is now home to the Consulate General of Poland. The multi-media centennial program ran from October 14 to 22. In the course of nine evenings the Consulate hosted many famous Polish and American intellectuals, writers, filmmakers, artists and virtuosos. 

The photo exhibition "Borders/Granice" will include multi-media live interaction with an identical twin-exhibition in Krakow, Poland, introductory remarks by Arkadiusz Białek (Jagiellonian University, Krakow) on differences between societies as well as the display of 18 superlarge size photographs by Piotr Sikora & Piotr Bondarczyk, featuring people of different races in Polish national costumes. During the exhibition, viewers of the New York presentation will be able to talk with and see by webcam attendees of the identical twin exhibition in Krakow. Also the models who posed for the pictures will be available for discussion and conversation.

Piotr Bondarczyk and Piotr Sikora, the creators of the photo presentation, live and work in New York. Mr. Bondarczyk is a graphic designer and print company owner (Bright Side Design), Mr. Sikora is a freelancer photographer.
