Military Legal Issues at Camp Grayling

The Michigan National Guard and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School will be holding a seminar in Grayling, Michigan on Friday, October 21, 2011. The event will feature Lt. Col. John Wojcik of Grand Ledge, Michigan. Wojcik serves as general counsel to the Michigan National Guard and recently returned home after serving in Afghanistan.

A historian of military law, Wojcik will be featured at the free seminar for attorneys who wish to serve returning veterans.  The Service to Soldiers program will highlight the legal benefits from the Service Members Relief Act (SMRA) and the Uniformed Services Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).  Also topics to be covered will be military estate planning, family law, property, rental contracts and post-deployment issues.

Cooley Law School is the largest law school in the nation.  Founded in 1972 by former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Thomas Brennan, Cooley has just opened a new campus in Tampa. Florida.  Other Juris Doctor programs and master of law degrees offered by Cooley are available at campuses in Lansing, Auburn Hills, Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor.
