Join Us on Sunday for a Rally and Reception To Include Poland in Visa Waiver Program

April 28, 2011

You are invited to a reception at the Kosciuszko Foundation on Sunday, May 1 at 4 pm, to rally support for Poland's inclusion in the Visa Waiver Program.

Afterwards, there will be a concert to celebrate Pope John Paul II's beatification at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 7 p.m.

Join us, along with representatives from the Nowy Dziennik, (Polish Daily News), The Polish American Congress, The Pulaski Day Parade Committee, Polish businessmen, war veterans, TV host Rita Cosby, Polish General Roman Polko via skype from Poland, and other surprises guests.

The Secure Travel and Counterterrorism Partnership Act of 2011, H.R. 959, and S.497 would allow Poland to join other European countries whose citizens can travel to the United States without visas. Poland is a member of NATO, the European Union, and one of America's closest allies in the war on terror.

Victor Ashe, former Ambassador to Poland, appointed by President Bush
"As a former Ambassador to Poland, I know firsthand the wisdom and reasonableness of Poland being part of the US visa waiver program. It should happen. Polish tourists and visitors are wanted in the United States. Congress should help open the doors for them to come."

Iraq War Veteran, Polish General Roman Polko will join us via Skype because he doesn't have a visa!
"When we decided to have this rally in support of the VWP for Poland, I contacted my friend Gen. Polko and asked if he would take part. When I contacted Gen. Polko, he said that he would like to come to New York, but his visa expired and he can not come to the United States. I was shocked. This man and his troops were dropped by U.S. Special Forces into Iraq behind enemy lines so that he could fight for American freedom, yet he can not come see the Statue of Liberty without a visa. This is an embarrassment for American Foreign Policy. It's high time for Congress to pass legislation to include Poland in the VWP."

TV Host & Best Selling Author,
Rita Cosby

"Poland has been a steadfast ally of the United States in the war on terrorism and it makes no sense to exclude Polish citizens from the Visa Waiver Program. It's time to start treating Poland with the respect that it deserves."
