Made in America

March 22, 2009

Will Americans go out of their way to support the “Made in America” label, so I can employ people, pay my operational expenses and make a profit so I can stay in business?

Because there was so little reaction by the American people as they saw businesses and job opportunities leaving the U.S.A., we have to do more now to save jobs to make up for lost time. Through campaigns to support american workers, the groundwork has been laid, ideas are being shared, but the most important reaction must come from American consumers who will seek out and purchase products made in America.

Today, I ask that you put yourself in the position of a business owner who is considering opening or expanding a business opportunity in the U.S.A. Their main question is: will Americans go out of their way to support the “Made in America” label, so I can employ people, pay my operational expenses and make a profit so I can stay in business? The answer to this important question must be “yes” if we are going to be able to encourage businesses to maintain and expand manufacturing here in the United States of America.

The main objective of my Support American Workers campaign is to get people thinking and talking about supporting our local and national work force and the companies that employ them. In past weeks I received responses from people who stated that some foreign manufacturers are producing items in America, including cars. That's great! Every company who is employing American workers must be supported and I ask that you look for the made in America sticker on those products.

However, despite the employment of American workers by some foreign companies doing business in the U.S.A, it remains vital that American industries re-tool themselves for every level of manufacturing so American workers can return to being a driving force in the new global business economy.

Think about everything you've been hearing during my commentaries. For your convenience, you can listen to rebroadcasts of them, print them out, and even email the messages to your family and friends from the links on my Internet site at: MichaelSupportsAmerica.com.

Above all, this week when you go shopping, purchase American made products. If you don't find what you are looking for in one store, make your concerns known to the sales clerk, then shop elsewhere.

This is Michael Blichasz, and as always, I appreciate hearing from you. I welcome your comments and suggestions and ask that you spread the word to others. You can Email me from my Internet site at: MichaelSupportsAmerica.com
