The 3rd Polish Street Festival in Martinez CA!

September 20, 2013

Polish Street Festival in SF Bay Area - September 21, 2013

For the third time East Bay Polish American Association is organizing a Polish Street Festival in Martinez. This year the festival will take place on Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening. The festival will take place next to Our Lady of Immigrants Chapel, on 909 Mellus Street in Martinez. Mellus Street and Las Juntas Street will be closed off during the festival. We invited local Polish artists and organizations which will surely add to the Polish feel. Since we are closing off two of the streets there will be plenty of space for everyone. If anyone is interested in displaying their art and talent there is still room, in order to reserve a spot please call (925) 759-5872. Although this is a Polish Festival all artists and organizations are welcomed and encouraged to take part regardless of background.

There will be fun for all ages including our youngest participants. Like every other festival of this sort, especially a Polish one, there has to be mention of authentic Polish cuisine. We know some of us have great artistic abilities but equally the abilities to be a great cook are as important, especially when it come to Polish cooking! You will not eat any canned or defrosted food at this festival. Our food will be freshly prepared for you by our lovely ladies just the way you had it at your grandma’s house. Everything will be prepared using authentic recipes and by real Polish cooks! Outside the cafeteria, we will also have a booth, offering Polish kielbasa straight off a grill, homemade bigos (hunter's stew made from sauerkraut and meat) and we can’t forget about everyone’s favorite, kotlety schabowe! (wiener schnitzel). For those wanting to sit down for a true Polish meal, inside the cafeteria our kitchen will provide you with a scrumptious Polish experience.

In the cafeteria we will also offer authentic Polish Deli for sale, provided by Jozef and Jurek Sikora, who will transport a portion of their store “Seakor Deli” from San Francisco in order to satisfy all your cravings.

The only thing that could make each meal even more satisfying… The best quality of European beer of course! We will have the best quality beer available to satisfy your thirst from morning until the evening hours. For those wanting to enjoy their meal with a glass of something more soothing, we will offer California wine and none alcoholic beverages.

After a delicious meal, cold beer and socializing there will still be room for entertainment. Our main stage will be located in the center of the event surrounded by all the festivities. During day artists from all age groups will present their talents to us. Performing for your entertainment will include the Children and Teens from Polish school named John Paull II from Walnut Creek. Another well known talent Adrian Grobelny with his dancing partner will perform and show us their Ballroom dancing abilities. There will be an opportunity to listen to great music performed live by Wojciech Czarniecki, Natasza Wilczkowiak, Maciej Danek and Bogdan Komorniczak, as well as part of a Lowiczanie men’s choir. Most of the artists are local but we will also feature couple of performers from Sacramento, Andrzej Skarka and Bogdan Komorniczak. There will be smany more other musical surprises in store for all our visitors. Our main attraction of the festival Folk Dance Assembly Lowiczanie will be performing for your pleasure throughout the day.

We are doing everything we can, to spread the word of our festival throughout the Bay Area. We hope that with every year this festival will grow and attract more and more people. 100% of the proceeds will go towards supporting our Church and Pastoral Center, which has thrived for over 26 years now and continues to support the Polish community of the East Bay. On behalf of all of us at the East Bay Polish Assocation of America (EBPAA), we invite everyone to join us at our Third Annual Polish Festival. East Bay Polish American Association
