Chopin Theatre - Mrozek's TANGO receives 2007 Best Direction

Chopin Theatre's production of Slawomir Mrozek's TANGO has received the 2007 Best Direction Award for its director Brandon Bruce. The honor, presented by the Orgie Theatre Awards Committee, is an annual award for the most original, innovative, thrilling and inspiring theatrical productions in Chicago. Mr. Bruce's direction of TANGO was selected from productions of over 250 theaters in Chicago.
Mr. Bruce has also won Joseph Jefferson Award (the theater industry's equivalent of an Oscar) for his direction of Thorton Wilder's THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH. (Attached is foto by Maciek Zamorski from TANGO - foto appeared in the TimeOut Chicago article about the Orgie Theater Awards).
Additionally, Lily Mojekwu received the 2007 Best Acting Award for her role in ANOTHER PART OF THE HOUSE written by Migdalia Cruz. The play was performed by Teatro Vista a resident company at Chopin Theatre and the largest equity Latino theater in the Midwest.
