These ensembles, as is well known, are particularly capable of arousing the admiration of the gathered audience, and their performances also evoke a depth of contemplation and nostalgia.
Centuries Passed
Over the years, quite a number of various folk ensembles have been formed, which have always played a significant role in nurturing the national cultural heritage, based on the life of the Polish countryside and, of course, on folklore.
History of Polish Folk Ensembles
Polish folk ensembles have a very long and, of course, very rich history. The first so-called “dance-vocal” groups presenting Polish folklore were formed at the beginning of the 20th century, when Poland regained independence after 123 years of captivity. The primary goal of these ensembles was to cultivate traditional Polish national dances, sing national songs, and introduce native rituals to everyone. The first folklore groups not only promoted Polish traditions but also, in a way, incorporated them into life and culture.
Oldest Folk Ensembles
The oldest Polish folk ensembles were those that always played a priority role in preserving and cultivating Polish folklore and customs. Thanks to these very ensembles, the native traditions, dear to the hearts of all Poles, presented in dances, songs, and rural customs, have survived to the present day. They are always presented to an audience that loves to participate in such performances. The artistic shows of folk ensembles are always rewarded with huge applause. Polish Folk Ensembles are a kind of ambassadors of our nation’s native culture.
The editorial staff of “Dziennik Polonijny” was invited to a performance of Folk Ensembles in Iłża, where they could enjoy the national folklore presented there.
