FIBROMA
A benign tumor originating from the connective tissue elements of the dermis. It appears as a single nodule with varying coloration from red to brownish, with a smooth or rough surface, and is movable relative to the underlying tissue. It usually develops as a result of minor injuries and scratches. Filiform senile fibromas are often found on the neck, nape, and armpit area. Fibromas usually do not require treatment. If they cause discomfort, they can be removed with a laser or by surgical excision under local anesthesia.
EPIDERMOID CYST
This is a slowly growing benign tumor within the skin, characterized as a cyst filled with keratinous and sebaceous material. Epidermoid cysts are spherical, movable relative to the underlying tissue, and painless nodules. An epidermoid cyst often enlarges, taking on a white or yellow coloration. They occur mainly on the face, nape, and chest. Sometimes also on the hairy scalp. Epidermoid cysts are removed surgically under local anesthesia. An epidermoid cyst removed along with its capsule does not regrow.
LIPOMA
This is a benign tumor originating from the connective tissue elements of the dermis. Lipomas most often appear as soft, single or multiple subcutaneous nodules, covered by normal skin, and movable relative to the underlying tissue. They are mainly located on the torso, nape, buttocks, forearms, and arms. They are removed surgically.
COMMON WARTS (verrucae)
Among viral skin diseases, warts are the most common. They are benign growths of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the human papillomavirus. Warts most often occur on the skin of the hands, feet, and in the genital area. Topical treatment with ointments is not very effective. Laser treatment for common warts is currently the most effective method. Often, one treatment is sufficient, which is simple, fast, and painless because it is performed under local anesthesia. The laser precisely removes the diseased tissue, which leads to quick and proper healing and provides a good cosmetic effect. Cryotherapy, or freezing, is also an effective method for destroying warts. By destroying the wart viruses, low temperatures cause their death and destruction.
