The photos show the float of the LIUNA Local 78 labor union, a glider being pulled on a trailer, and cyclists from the narowerze.us group. A brass band with majorettes marches under the “Krasocin – Poland” banner.
Further along are parishes and neighborhoods: Holy Cross from Maspeth with its own float, a large contingent from Greenpoint, and Greenpoint’s St. Stanislaus Kostka parish with its pastor, Rev. Grzegorz Markulak CM, and children in traditional Kraków attire. There is also the Polish Saturday School at Saints Cyril and Methodius parish in Brooklyn—the school where this year’s Grand Marshal, Dr. Iwona Korga, teaches.
The parade concludes with athletes: the Polish American Sports Association and runners from the Polish Running Team, some with children in running strollers. The Diamond Sponsor of the 89th Pulaski Day Parade was the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
