The Kosciuszko Triad: Music of Poland, America, and France celebrates the three nations that shaped the extraordinary life of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Presented at the historic Kosciuszko Foundation House in New York City, this special recital reimagines Kosciuszko’s transatlantic legacy through the universal language of music.
Featuring Patrycja Posłuszna, soprano; Boubacar Diallo, cello; and Nicholas Alexander Kaponyas, piano, the program journeys across three musical traditions, with works by Fryderyk Chopin, Claude Debussy, Amy Beach, Henri Duparc, Ludomir Różycki, Moritz Moszkowski, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
At the heart of the evening are two extraordinary cello sonatas: Chopin’s Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 65, one of his final major works, and Debussy’s vibrant and imaginative Cello Sonata. Songs and shorter works add intimacy, lyricism, and color to this musical journey across cultures.

MEET THE ARTISTS:
Patrycja Posłuszna, soprano
A Polish-American soprano based in New York, Posłuszna performs opera, art song, and Polish-American repertoire. She studied at Brooklyn College and Manhattan School of Music and has appeared in roles including Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and Micaëla in Carmen.
Boubacar Diallo, cello
A New York–born cellist, educator, and C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at The Juilliard School, Diallo has performed at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall and collaborated with artists including Lang Lang, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the Kronos Quartet. He is a tenured member of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
Nicholas Alexander Kaponyas, piano
A Polish-American pianist, collaborative artist, educator, and artistic director, Kaponyas has performed at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Merkin Hall, and internationally. He serves on the faculties of Queens College, Hunter College, Adelphi University, and New York University.
