In connection with the situation in Venezuela, the hierarchs encouraged prayer, so that God would grant Venezuelans peace, wisdom, and strength. They also called for national unity. “We stand in solidarity with those who have been injured, and with the families of those who have died,” they stated.
“We appeal to the People of God to experience hope and fervent prayer for peace in our hearts and in society as a whole even more intensely,” they added.
Furthermore, they noted: “We reject all forms of violence. May our hands open to encounter and mutual help, and may all decisions made always be for the good of our nation.”
