Hollywood.PL, a book talk meeting with Agnieszka Niezgoda and Jacek Laskus

A meeting with Agnieszka Niezgoda, the author of “Hollywood.PL”, accompanied by a photo show by cinematographer Jacek Laskus, organized by Los Angeles Public Library to be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 6:00 pm, at Woodland Hills Branch Library.

Twenty–three biographies. Four years of private encounters on two continents. Hundreds of hours of conversations conducted at homes in Los Angeles, Malibu, New York, Paris, London, Warsaw. All are documented in one book, Hollywood PL, a richly illustrated volume that tells the stories of twenty-three acclaimed Polish-born filmmakers, whose vision left an indelible mark on today’s Hollywood.

Those featured include director Agnieszka Holland (In Darkness), composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Finding Neverland), and directors of photography Adam Holender (Midnight Cowboy) and Dariusz Wolski (Pirates of the Caribbean). Their personal stories constitute a behind-the-scenes look at life in Hollywood, and a moving portrait of the immigrant in pursuit of the American Dream.
