Orchard Lake, MI – The Polish Institute of Culture & Research at Orchard Lake invites the community to a special Benefit Dinner on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Galeria, 3535 Commerce Road, to raise funds for flood-stricken communities in Poland, including St. Lawrence Parish in Głuchołazy. This parish has been a pillar of its community, now left devastated by the recent catastrophic flooding.

The evening will feature a keynote lecture by Grzegorz Górny, an internationally renowned author, journalist, and filmmaker, alongside Rafał Porzeziński, a respected speaker and media personality. Their joint presentation, The Battle for the Soul of the World, inspired by the teachings of Saint John Paul II, will address the spiritual and moral challenges of our time. The lecture will be presented in both English and Polish.

Guests will also enjoy a captivating vocal performance by Angelika Korszyńska-Górny, whose music resonates deeply with Polish heritage, a delightful dinner, and a complimentary wine service (poczęstunek wykwintnymi Minami).

Proceeds from the evening will support St. Lawrence Parish in Głuchołazy, a critical spiritual and community hub now facing significant rebuilding needs, and assist local families struggling to recover from the disaster.

“This event highlights the importance of extending compassion and tangible support to those in need,” said Ania Bieciuk, Associate Director for Polonia Affairs at the Polish Institute. “As Saint John Paul II taught us, love is measured by action. By supporting St. Lawrence Parish and its community, we help restore hope and rebuild lives after unimaginable loss."

Tickets for the benefit dinner can be purchased at www.picrol.org or by calling 248-836-1284. Seating is limited, and early reservations are encouraged.

Join us for an inspiring evening filled with culture, reflection, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Thank you
