Holiday Flights Polish Airlines LOT to the United States...

Subscribe to our NEWSLETTER. You will receive important information from "Dziennik Polonijny" Polish Daily News US

Since the updated air traffic ban regulations by the Polish government were published recently, we would like to give you short update on it. The document, which is valid until December 31st this year, includes the previous nine countries, as well as Serbia. Due to the unstable epidemic situation in this area, LOT's connections between Warsaw and Belgrade are suspended until the end of February 2021.

The same document also extends the possibility to run operations from US airports located in the states of New York and Illinois. Thus, all LOT connections between New York, Chicago and Warsaw, as well as flights from Chicago to Krakow, remain open for sale. However, we would like to remind all passengers that entry restrictions introduced by local authorities still apply.

Holiday flights from Budapest and Krakow to the United States

Every year, LOT brings together families who want to spend the holiday together with their relatives abroad. Nowadays this mission has taken on a special meaning. This year selected flights to the United States will return to the LOT schedule. For Hungarians living in the USA, and passengers who travel frequently on this route, LOT offers direct flights between Budapest and New York (JFK) between December 15 and January 12, according to the following schedule:

  • LO 034 JFK-BUD 22:50-13:25 (LT) Monday
  • LO 033 BUD-JFK 16:25-20:25 (LT) Tuesday

During the holiday season, the large Polish community living in the USA is also interested in traveling to Poland. Between December 20 to January 11, LOT offers direct flights between Krakow and Chicago according to the following schedule:

  • LO 010 ORD-KRK 22:00-14:05 (LT) Sunday
  • LO 09 KRK-ORD 16:35-19:55 (LT) Monday

At the same time, we encourage you to check update LOT global policy v. 4.21 - the new version changes wording regarding changes in travel route/dates for group bookings. We also encourage you to check LOT’s FLEX PLUS group offer v 1.6

LOT resumes regular passenger flights to China

We would also like to inform you that on December 9 we resumed regular passenger connections to the Tianjin Binhai airport in China. During the winter season, flights will be operated every two weeks according to the following local time schedule:

  • LO 093 WAW-TSN 16:05 - 09:00 Wednesday
  • LO 094 TSN-WAW 10:30 - 15:35 Friday

Connections are served by modern Boeing 787-8 and 787-9.

Resumed connections from Poland to China are associated with restrictive epidemic regulations agreed between the two countries. Passengers traveling from Warsaw to Tianjin are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result, performed using the molecular method (RT-PCR), and a negative IgM test result for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The tests should be performed no earlier than 48 hours before the travel, at an institution designated by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China. Travelers must also obtain a certificate confirming compliance with the above-mentioned procedures, issued by the Embassy.

Czech Republic - offer extension

The last information we have today concerns also our latest connection launched within the Czech Republic. Due to the growing demand on the intra-national route Ostrava-Prague-Ostrava, we extended operations until January 17. It will continue to be serviced as part of the Warsaw-Ostrava-Prague-Ostrava-Warsaw rotation. The connection is available 5 times a week. The extension is also related to the adjustment of the schedule of other LOT flights offered on these routes. Direct flights between Warsaw and Ostrava and most of the direct flights between Warsaw and Prague scheduled until 17 January have been removed from the network.

We wish you a joyful time of preparation for current and upcoming holidays, which we know traditionally is always a very busy period for everyone.

Best wishes,
Anna Staszewska
