Dr. Dariusz Nasiek Hosts Successful Networking Event

The evening was highlighted by an inspiring keynote address from Dr. Nilay Shah, MD  of BonLeven Healthcare, who shared his extensive knowledge on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and its medicolegal ramifications. Dr. Shah, a neurology specialist with 26 years of experience, practices in Maywood, NJ, and provides patient-centered care for individuals with neurological disorders. His presentation covered the latest in evidence-based testing and treatments for conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease.

Dr. Shah discussed the role of EEG and TELE EEG in diagnosing TBI and the advancements in MRI technology, including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). He also touched on the future of imaging techniques, suggesting that artificial intelligence will soon surpass radiologists in reading imaging.

Dr. Nasiek took the opportunity to introduce a self-testing questionnaire featured in his upcoming book on TBI, “Brain Impact.” This book aims to help individuals identify the signs and symptoms of post-concussion syndrome, which are frequently overlooked during initial assessments. With self-tests, evaluations, and straightforward algorithms, the book aims to provide guidelines for identifying overlooked instances of TBI. Dr. Nasiek invited attendees to give suggestions and feedback on the self-testing components to ensure the book’s success.
