Through its 501(c)(3) charitable mission, the Foundation provides annual scholarships to students with a connection to Alliance College or a demonstrated passion for Polish history, culture, or language.
Each year, the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving students pursuing post-secondary education at accredited colleges, universities, and technical schools. Eligible applicants must hold at least a 2.5 GPA, and preference is given to candidates studying Polish or related topics, or to those related to an Alliance College or Alliance Technical School alumnus. “The alumni scholarship program allows us to keep the legacy of Alliance College alive,” says ACAAF President Richard Day.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 scholarship cycle. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be submitted or postmarked by December 31, 2025. Decisions will be made in January, and winners will receive their scholarship awards in early February. The application is available at www.alliancecollege.com
Celebrating Our 2024–2025 Scholarship Recipients
The ACAAF proudly recognizes three outstanding students who were awarded $2,500 scholarships earlier this year:
- Magdalena Bialk, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland
- Andrew Machesky, Appalachian State University
- Emma Kilgallon, University of Tennessee
“These students represent the next generation of learners and community leaders carrying forward the values and traditions of Alliance College,” said ACAAF Vice President and Director of Scholarships Barbara Gdula Adams. “They were selected for their academic excellence, commitment to their communities, and connection to Alliance College traditions, and we encourage alumni to share this opportunity widely within their families. These scholarships provide financial support and allow us to continue nurturing a passion for learning within the Alliance College community.”
Founded in 1912 by the Polish National Alliance, Alliance College served as a premier institution for the children and grandchildren of Polish immigrants—providing opportunity, advancing cultural pride, and fostering academic excellence. Though the college closed in 1987, its alumni came together in 2001 to ensure its heritage lived on through reunions, community events, and the Foundation’s scholarship program. Today, the Alliance College Alumni Association Foundation remains committed to honoring that legacy by investing in students who reflect our values and who carry forward the cultural traditions we cherish.
