Here is the full text of the statement by Dr. Luigi Carbone and Prof. Stefano Margaritora on the Pope’s post-operative recovery:
“This morning, the Holy Father underwent blood tests and a chest X-ray, as scheduled after the procedure. The results confirm a normal recovery: the parameters are within the normal range for this type of surgery.
The Holy Father underwent respiratory physiotherapy and began walking around the room. He has resumed regular meals, having breakfast and lunch.
The recovery process is proceeding according to plan.”
The Pope is in a good mood, added Holy See Spokesperson Matteo Bruni.
He also informed that Leo XIV celebrated Holy Mass this afternoon in the room specially designated for this purpose on the 10th floor.
