A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. James, located at 250 Cathedral Place in Downtown Brooklyn, followed by the procession.
The procession will cross the Brooklyn Bridge, before continuing to City Hall Park and then St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine on Liberty Street. At each stop, there will be prayer, music and reflections given by Bishop Brennan. Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will welcome the faithful at St. Nicholas.
The Way of the Cross is sponsored by Communion and Liberation an international lay movement in the Catholic Church, founded by Monsignor Luigi Giussani in 1954, with an active presence throughout the United States and in 70 countries worldwide.

At 7:00 P.M. Bishop Brennan will participate in a Good Friday evening procession. The route begins at Sacred Heart St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 125 Summit Street (Hicks and Summit Streets) in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn. The procession is co-sponsored with the Maria Addolorata Congregation and has been a neighborhood tradition for more than 125 years.
