Krzysztof Bronk – Vatican

The Pope referred to the current world situation at the end of the general audience, after addressing Poles. „In connection with the recent hours of enormous tension in the Middle East and around the world – said the Holy Father –  I welcome the announcement of an immediate two-week ceasefire, seeing in this a sign of living hope”.

„Only by returning to negotiations can the war be brought to an end – emphasized the Pope. – I encourage you to support this period of delicate diplomatic actions with prayer, hoping that the readiness for dialogue will become a tool for resolving other conflict situations in the world. I renew my invitation to everyone to join me during the prayer vigil for peace, which will take place here, in St. Peter’s Basilica, on Saturday, April 11″.

The evening prayer vigil for peace, convened at the Pope’s initiative, will be broadcast on the Polish Vatican News channel.
