Bonjour Monsieur Chagall by Ida Kaminska Theater from Warsaw     June 11, 2015

KulturfestNYC is the first-ever international festival of Jewish performing arts, celebrating the global impact of Jewish culture. Presented by National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, the weeklong festivities will commence June 14th and run through June 21st all day and night jam-packed with incredible theatre, music, dance, film, cuisine, street performances, family programs, panels, lectures to inspire and entertain you.

One of the highlights of the Festival will be

  • Bonjour Monsieur Chagall by Ida Kaminska Theater from Warsaw
  • Artistic Director: Golda Tencer
  • The play will be performed in Yiddish with English supertitles

Bonjour Monsieur Chagall is a colorful musical performance based on poetic works and painting by Marc Chagall. The play is reminiscent of the atmosphere of the Jewish World from Eastern Europe, where this extraordinary artist grew up and evolved. The script was inspired by a personal meeting of Jewish theater director Szymon Szurmiej with Chagall himself.
