Program for Higher Education \"Ready, Study, Go Poland!\"

24 marca, 2014

At the moment, our higher education system is developing rapidly and Poland is fourth in Europe (after the United Kingdom, Germany and France) in terms of the number of people studying at university.

Poland’s university traditions are among the oldest in Europe. In 1365, King Casimir the Great established the Cracow Academy, known today as Jagiellonian University. At the moment, our higher education system is developing rapidly and Poland is fourth in Europe (after the United Kingdom, Germany and France) in terms of the number of people studying at university. The total student population at over 450 university-level schools is almost 2 million. Polish universities offer over 200 first-rate fields of study as an integral part of the European Higher Education Area, where the level of tuition fees compares favorably with other EU countries.

Poland plays an active part in the Bologna Process thanks to the introduction of a three-stage education and the European Credit Transfer System. Foreigners studying in Poland can easily continue their education elsewhere in the European Union. Foreign students coming to Poland can expect an attractive and diversified educational range which meets high European standards - they can study medicine, biotechnology and engineering, but also art and business. Their graduation diploma is recognized in Europe and elsewhere.

This website will provide you with all the information you need about studying in Poland. It tells you about our country and the opportunities we offer in higher education (Higher Education System and Tuition Fees and Scholarships sections). It also shows how beautiful Poland is and how friendly Polish people are (section Why Poland?). Information on student life and student organizations is available in the Living and Working and Get Connected sections. Legal issues related to studying in Poland are covered in the Define Your Status and Visa & Application sections. Most higher education institutions offer courses in English at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level – you can easily browse them in the Studyfinder section. Those who are interested in Polish language and culture should consult the section Polish your Polish. There is also a special area addressed to students of Polish origin. The News section will give you an opportunity to learn more about the latest developments and to check where to meet us at fairs and conferences organized worldwide. The Gallery and Video sections present daily student life and examples of recent investments at Polish universities. The bottom menu will guide you to further information on Polish cultural life, places to visit and stories told by foreign students about their experience in Poland.
