Toni Kroos\' Sale: Everyone Wins

Toni Kroos, for his last season at Bayern Munich, was very much the metronome of the German outfit. For Pep Guardiola\'s side, he often times was a regular, keeping the ball masterfully for the Spanish coach\'s possession-oriented style. He is a very methodical player, but would certainly be able to thrive in the counter-attacking outfit of Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti. Kroos would also be another option to use against opposition that chooses to defend against Real Madrid, where his passing range would certainly be able to be put to use.

Of course, Bayern Munich will miss a magnificent player, whom, at the age of 24, can only realistically get better, with his peak years still quite far ahead of him. He was, as stated, an integral part of Pep Guardiola\'s Bayern side in the 2013-2014 season, winning the domestic double over Borussia Dortmund. He also played a pivotal role in the treble winning season in 2013-2013 before his injury against Juventus in the quarterfinals. Bayern Munich would be hard pressed to find a suitable replacement in quality and style in the transfer market; however they necessarily won\'t need to.

Of course, currently Bayern Munich is stacked with midfield talent, with the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara, Mario Goetze, Phillip Lahm (if need be), and even Thomas Mueller. There is also the highly rated Danish midfielder, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, who is thought to be the next midfield general for the German club. There is plenty of talent that could be fielded for all three major competitions, injury-stable season permitting. The squad was simply bursting with midfield talent, and one high profile player eventually had to leave.

Even if Toni Kroos had a major, major role last season, much of it was down to being a very unfortunate amount on injuries to almost all of Bayern Munich\'s midfielders at one point or another during the season. One cannot guarantee it would be the same again for the 2014 – 2015 season.

With Toni Kroos\' release, Bayern\'s midfield core will be able to be more satisfied with rotation than the previous one.

The price itself can be considered a bonus for the Bavarian board, since Bayern eventually were going to release the midfielder the next season. For the relative market value of around 40 million euros, selling him for 30 million is a respectable piece of business from the German club\'s perspective.

Of course, for Real Madrid, they land themselves a premium midfielder. He will certainly help Madrid\'s ability to keep possession of the ball, as his passing statistics from last season would indicate (91% in Bundesliga/ 94% in Champions League). He also has the ability to play higher up the pitch, as an attacking midfielder, since his passing in the final third is both crisp and penetrative, perfect for runners like Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, running infield from the flanks. The German maestro also has a fantastic shot in him, using both feet almost equally well. And once again, he is only 24, leaving ample time for him to be even more developed under the tutelage of Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

For Toni Kroos, he joins a club as big as Bayern Munich, with a higher wage offer and a chance to prove himself in another one of Europe\'s premier clubs. He leaves at a time where he can be confident in himself, even for Madrid\'s lofty standards. Alongside Luka Modric, he can form arguable Europe\'s strongest midfield partnerships. Carlo Ancelotti, like Pep Guardiola, will also be able to develop him even further to a better player. If Toni Kroos performs at the level he has with Bayern, he will certainly sway the Madrid faithful very rapidly.
