NJ: Spotkanie z Johnem Wisniewskim, kandydatem na gubernatora

Please join us Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. for a reception at Nowy Dziennik (70 Outwater Lane Garfield, New Jersey 07026) in support of his campaign for Governor.  If you cannot join us, please consider supporting my efforts to help him be elected in any way that you are able.

John Wisniewski is a lawyer, professor, and a 20-year veteran of the NJ Assembly. He has held leadership positions in the Assembly since he was elected in 1995, including spots as deputy speaker and as the chairman of the Assembly's Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee. He also led his party as Democratic state chairman for 3 1/2 years.

Most people know of John through his work as head of the Transportation Committee, where he led the investigation of Christie Administration and the GW Bridge scandal.  John discovered the incriminating emails stating that it was “Time to Shut down Fort Lee” and pursued it with vigor.

John will bring a wealth of experience to the Governor’s office, but also the courage to oppose the political establishment.  He pursued the GW Bridge scandal despite the objections of Republican and many Democratic colleagues.  He bucked the Democratic political establishment as the only elected official in NJ to support Bernie Sanders.

John’s Democratic primary opponent, like former Governor John Corzine, is a former Goldman Sachs executive who has given vast sums to Democratic county committees.  Once the primary is past, the eyes of the nation will look to New Jersey in 2017 to measure the direction and mood of the country.  We will be the test to see if the country will correct the course we started down when Donald Trump was elected President.
