Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund Is Now Open!

The Embassy of the United States in Poland is pleased to announce the opening of a competition for past participants (“alumni”) of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications for the U.S. Department of State’s 2021 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF 2021).  Alumni can submit proposals requesting funding from $10,000 up to $25,000 to finance community service/development projects in Poland that focus on the following themes:

  • Enhance awareness of stewardship for environment and activities that take care of environment.
  • Build atmosphere of inclusion of any minority groups such as gender and sexuality, racial and ethnic minority groups, people with disabilities, and others.
  • Involve youth in activities strengthening democracy, good citizenship and civic engagement.

Applications must be for projects proposed and managed by teams of at least two (2) alumni.

For more details and all of the program eligibility requirements, please click here.  Alumni interested in participating in the AEIF 2021 competition should submit proposals with the subject title AEIF 2021 Project Proposal to Alumni_Poland@state.gov no later than May 9th, 2021.

The U.S. Department of State created the AEIF in 2011 to support alumni initiatives that promote shared values and innovative solutions to global challenges.  The competition provides small grants from $10,000 up to $25,000 for teams of at least two international alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to carry out public service projects that draw on the skills and knowledge alumni have gained through their exchange experiences in the United States.  Since its inception in 2011, AEIF has funded nearly 500 alumni-led projects around the world.
