"Wood & Grain" - Art Exhibit in Clark, NJ

“Wood & Grain” with reliefs by Jerzy Chojnowski and grain compositions by Maria Nowak, from November 13 through December 2, 2016.

The Skulski Art Gallery of the Polish Cultural Foundation in Clark, New Jersey is pleased to present art exhibit titled:

“Wood & Grain” with reliefs by Jerzy Chojnowski and grain compositions by Maria Nowak, from November 13 through December 2, 2016.

Please join us at the Opening Reception:
Sunday, November 13, 3:00-6:00 p.m.

In the opening program will be a musical performance by Dorota Huculak, singing poetry, accompanied by guitar.

The public is welcome, admission is free and refreshments will be served.

MARIA NOWAK, born in Nisko, Poland, graduated from Piotr Michalowski School of Fine Arts & Design in Rzeszow, Poland. She is a painter, sculptor, stain glass artist and in addition she uses a very unique technique to create the landscape, floral and portrait images by using different types of grain. At this exhibit you will enjoy about 30 grain compositions. Mrs Nowak exhibits extensively in galleries in New Jersey and in New York. Her work can be found in many private collections in Poland, France, Sweden and in the United States.

JERZY CHOJNOWSKI, born in Poland. He discovered his passion for drawing and painting at very early age. Later in his life, Jerzy focused his attention to woodworking and by accident when he started to carve with screwdriver his first piece, which he titled: “Mother of God Nursing”. Over the time he started to use professional tools and his passion for carving became even stronger. During thirty years of working artistically, Jerzy created over 500 reliefs, using mostly basswood and linden wood. His favorite topics are: animals in action, national emblems, religious and biblical themes. Mr. Chojnowski’s work were featured in New York Times magazine. His works can be found in many private collections in Poland and in the United States.
