Film Conference: "Poles and Jews, Jews and Poles: Life Through Centuries" at Yale University

September 29, 2016

A cinematic perspective on the centuries-long coexistence of Polish and Jewish cultures.

Yale University will include the film 'Karski & The Lords of Humanity" in their Poles and Jews/Jews and Poles: Life Through the Centuries. A Cinematic Perspective film series on October 15, starting at 1pm.

The film's director, Slawomir Grunberg, will appear in a Q&A after the film showing.

The Museum of Polish Jews that recently opened in Warsaw commemorates the millions exterminated by the Nazis during the Holocaust and at the same time celebrating the thousand-year history of Jewish life in Poland. Inspired by the museum's mission statement, the conference will screen feature films showing the presence of Jewish life and culture in Poland. A few documentary films will focus on the rebirth of the Jewish community in Poland after 1989.

The conference is planned in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw as part of the Poland-US Campus project.
