January 02, 2014

The Polish band, Boogie Boys, are competing at the 30th International Blues Challenge January 21-25, 2014 in Memphis.

The Blues Foundation and its Affiliated Organizations are searching for a Blues Band and Solo/Duo Blues Act ready to take their act to the international stage at the world's largest gathering of Blues performers.

Over the years, the IBC has evolved into the nation's biggest and most respected showcase for Blues musicians from around the world. The list of blues artists that have competed in the IBC over the years include: Susan Tedeschi , Fiona Boyes, Eden Brent, the late Michael Burks, Tommy Castro, Larry Garner, Homemade Jamz Blues Band, Robin Rogers, Super Chikan and many others. The IBC is a judged "Battle of the Bands" in which competitors take the stage and play for a panel of judges.

Since 2002, Boogie Boys have played on almost every continent. They have released 3 studio albums. Boogie Boys toured alongside many famous artists such as: Shakin' Stevens, Ray Manzarek (The Doors), Eric Burdon (The Animals), Chris Barber, Phil Guy, Studebaker John, James Harman, Rod Piazza, Big Bill Morgenfield, Mike Sanchez, Ana Popovic and many others. In February 2009 they were the only non-U.S. band who reached the finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. In 2010 and 2011 in a "Blues TOP" survey they were chosen as "Band of the Year." Their newest album "Made in Cali" was produced by John Clifton in the USA and was announced to be "The Album of the Year" in the "Blues Top 2012" poll. In 2014 they will tour Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
