25 artists from the US, Russia and 9 countries of Eastern and Central Europe will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of CEC ArtsLink’s eponymous program ArtsLink Awards with FlipFest!, an evening-long presentation of wildly diverse, cutting-edge contemporary theater, dance, music, spoken word, and post-genre performance.

DJ Joro Boro and actor/puppeteer Vit Horejs will introduce Ivan Talijancic’s WaxFactory, Robert Black of Bang on a Can All-Stars, Yoshiko Chuma of the School of Hard Knocks, Polish vocalist / performer / painterSylwia Gorak, playwright/actor Jim Neu, site-specific choreographer Ilya Belenkov (Russia), bombshell actress Dalia Micheleviciute (Lithuania), jazz saxophonist Viktor Toth (Hungary), dancer/choreographer Goran Bogdanvoski (Slovenia), inimitable performance artist Frantisek Skala (Czech Republic), Siberian folk musicians German and Klavdia Khatylaev (Russia), pianist Lucian Ban (Romania), and more. Cap it off with beer and outrageous dancing with cult favorite DJ Joro Boro, the resident DJ at Mehanata Bulgarian Bar.The artists’ bios.

ArtsLink Fellows have been hosted, with CEC ArtsLink’s funding, at such organizations as David Dorfman Dance in New York; the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa; Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT, and the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans. During this five-week residency, participants are encouraged to explore ideas and expand current projects using the unique resources of their host organization, and to channel the creative charge of a new environment. The celebratory FlipFest! features new performance works by some of the most innovative and exciting artists who have participated in the program.

CEC ArtsLink is a not for profit international arts organization that works to enhance global understanding by supporting exchange between artists and other arts professionals through three distinct programs: Open World Cultural Leaders, VisArt, and ArtsLink Awards. ArtsLink Awards fund and facilitate projects and residencies for performing and visual artists and managers in the US and Eastern and Central Europe,Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Funding sources include CEC ArtsLink, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Trust for Mutual Understanding, the Ohio Arts Council, the Kettering Fund and the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation with additional support from the Polish Cultural Institute and the Romanian Cultural Institute.

FlipFest! is the brainchild of CEC ArtsLink Executive Director Fritzie Brown, and is a follow-up to the 2004 FlipSide exhibition at New York’s Artists Space, FlipFest! is co-produced by CEC ArtsLink and Bonnie Sue Stein/GOH Productions, with the support of:
