Yesterday Lieutenant General Edward L. Rowny (4/3/1917 – 12/17/2017) former arms control negotiator and military advisor to 5 US administrations, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
On behalf of our Embassy, Chargé d'affaires Paweł Kotowski and Defense Attaché Major General Cezary Wiśniewski paid final respects to General Edward Rowny, who throughout his life was always proud of his Polish heritage and worked tirelessly to promote it. A few months prior to his passing, General Rowny was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for preserving Poland's national heritage abroad.
He was an incredible man and eminent leader in Polonia who touched the lives of many.
