Notice of Annual Meeting of The Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union and Election Procedures

To the Members of the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union;

The Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union’s Annual Meeting will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Polish National Club, 329 Peninsula Blvd, Hempstead, NY 11550.

At this meeting, the results of our annual election will be reported to the membership. Due to the expiration of the terms of four directors, four seats on the Board of Directors will become available. The four candidates who receive the highest number of votes cast will serve three-year terms.

The Nominating Committee filed its nominations for the 2014 Election with Iwona Podolak, Secretary of the Board, on February 17, 2014. As provided by the bylaws, the Nominating Committee was appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and was comprised of Paul Sosnowski (Chairman), Arthur Dolega, Antoni Domino, Barbara Wawiorko and Malgorzata Wadolowski.

Any member wishing to be added to the list of candidates must file a petition. A prospective candidate, in addition to being agreeable to the placing of his or her name on the ballot and accepting the office, if elected, must be willing to submit to a background and credit check, and be bondable by the Credit Union’s insurance carrier. The eligibility requirements for candidates are outlined in the PSFCU bylaws.

In addition, all prospective candidates must register with the PSFCU in order to obtain the original petition forms. Only original petition forms may be used and copies will not be accepted. Petition packages can be obtained at the PSFCU offices located at 100 McGuinness Blvd., Brooklyn, NY, 9 Law Drive, Fairfield, NJ, or 4147 North Harlem Ave., Norridge, Il. In case of any questions regarding the petition, please contact Compliance Department at 973-808-3240 ext. 6119. Completed petitions, along with the required documentation, must be filed with the PSFCU no later than 7 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the PSFCU offices located at 100 McGuinness Blvd., Brooklyn, NY, 9 Law Drive, Fairfield, NJ, or 4147 North Harlem Ave., Norridge, Il. The PSFCU Bylaws require that the petition be signed by a minimum of 500 members. If the record of a petition signatory is incomplete or incorrect, that member will not be included in the signature count.

A list of all candidates will be posted in the branch offices of PSFCU by no later than April 13, 2014.

Ballots will be mailed by no later than April 18, 2014 to all members eligible to vote in the 2014 Election. Each member will only have one vote, regardless of the number of accounts owned. The 2014 Election will be conducted by paper ballot with optional electronic voting available to those PSFCU members who are registered online banking users. Detailed voting instructions will be enclosed with the ballot. The deadline to receive the completed ballots by PSFCU’s election company is 11:59 pm EST on May 13, 2014.


RYSZARD F. BAK

Employment: Currently Civil Service Employee for New York City Housing Authority since 1997; Previously Manager at Auffray Co., Company Manufacturing French Provincial Furniture Reproduction (1992-1997).
Education: B.S. in Computer Information Systems in Public Administration (2009), John Jay College; Obtained Diploma Certificate of Vocational College in Radio and TV Engineering, Vocational School, Poland.
Affiliations: Member and past three terms Chairman of "Polonia Technica", an American engineering association; Vice President of Polish National Home; Member of the Board of Managers of the Bay Club.


MALGORZATA GRADZKI
PSFCU Member since 1986
Employment: Legal Service Coordinator for Catholic Charities – Diocese of Rockville Centre since 1997; Accredited by Board of Immigration Appeals; Principal of St. Ladislaus Polish Supplementary School in Hempstead, NY since 1986.
Education: Master in Economics, Wroclaw, Poland (1983); Completed professional certificate in immigration law at Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc., Washington, DC (2000).
Affiliations: Currently serving as the 2nd Vice Chairperson of the PSFCU Board of Directors. Served as the Secretary of the PSFCU Board of Directors (2011-2013); Coordinator of Educational Commission of Polish American Congress (1995-present); Vice President of Polish American Congress, Long Island Division (2010-present); President for LI Polish Supplementary School Council of America (2000-2005); Director of Polish National Club of Hempstead (1995-present); Member of American-Polish Council of Long Island (2000-present).


THADDEUS CZAJKOWSKI
PSFCU Member since 2011
Employment: Part time tax preparer for H&R Block since 1983*; Works part time as a real estate broker.*
Education: Associate Degree in Business Administration, University of Illinois, Wright Jr. College (1996). Completed professional certificates in accounting, real estate and tax preparation.
Affiliations: Member of Alliance of Polish Clubs in the USA since 1998, currently serving as the President; Chairman of the Polish Constitution Day Parade Committee since 2008; Founder of the Homeowners Association in 2009, currently serving as Treasurer.


GRZEGORZ GUZINSKI

Employment: Currently employed part time at CUNY Learning Center.* Marketing Director at Polish Theatrical Institute since 2010. Previously Math and Science teacher and tutor at John Jay College Learning Center. Journalist and writer at Polish Yellow Pages, Greenpoint Gazette, Glos (CPS) website Expatpol (New York) and Polskie Radio 910AM since 1994.*

BEATA KLAR-JAKUBOWSKI

Employment: Currently Fiscal Comptroller at PSC Community Services, Inc.; Previously Internal Auditor at Concept of Independence Inc.
Education: B. A. degree majoring in Accounting, Queens College; Associate degree in Business Administration, LaGuardia Community College.

LEON KOKOSZKA

Employment: Manager at Department of Capital Programs and Planning at Fordham University where he is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of new projects and technology on both campuses; Savvy investor with extensive knowledge of finance and local real estate.

MICHAEL KWIATKOWSKI
PSFCU Member since 1999
Employment: Since January 2012, employed as an attorney for a Long Island Law Firm specializing in banking and commercial law. He represents individuals, corporations, and financial institutions in commercial litigation cases in state, federal and appellate courts in New York and New Jersey. Previously an associate attorney at a Manhattan law firm from 2011 to 2012 where he represented individuals and companies in bankruptcy proceedings.
Education: Juris Doctor, Graduated Cum Laude, Brooklyn Law School (2010). Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, McGill University, Montreal, Canada (2005).
Affiliations: Member of the Nassau County Bar Association and admitted to the New York and New Jersey attorney bars. Long-time member of Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union and recipient of the PSFCU Scholarship Program.


MARZENA WIERZBOWSKA
PSFCU Member since 2000
Employment: Self-employed stock market investor since 2009; Program Director of Social and Legal Services at the Polish Cultural Foundation (2009); Social worker at the Polish and Slavic Center (2007-2009): Program Director of the Community Action Program at PSC and Program Coordinator of ESL (free of charge English classes).

JOLANTA OLECHOWSKI
PSFCU Member since 1993
Employment: ESL instructor at the Queens Adult Learning Center of the NYC Department of Education since
2006. Held positions of Director of Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program, Educational Director of the ESL program for Adults and Program Director of the Colony for New Immigrant Children at the Polish & Slavic Center (1993-
2005). Among others she also worked at the Kosciuszko Foundation as an Administrative Assistant to the President (1987).
Education: Master of Arts in Social Policy, Empire State College/SUNY (1999); Master of Science in Education, the College of Saint Rose (2002); Completed New York State teaching and administrative certificates.

Education: Certified Paralegal Studies Diploma, New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies (2003); B. A. in Sociology, Stony Brook University (1999).
