Countess Daisy de Grabowski will in person present her book Casting Off. A Solo Atlantic Voyage, on September 5th, 2013 in Los Angeles
Chris de Grabowski fell in love with the sea the first moment he saw it when he was seven years old. Twenty-one years later in 1959, he sailed solo from Gibraltar to New York City on his 25 foot sloop, the Tethys. The book is Chris\' actual account of this solitary 84 day journey, complete with the challenges and joys of a solo passage. His insight into the spiritual and emotional struggles before and during the voyage are truly inspiring. Chris was sadly lost in the Bermuda Triangle in 1964, pursuing his passion.
