Polish-American Conference on Science and Technology held in Washington, DC.

The Ohio State University and the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw joined forces in co-organizing 13th Polish-American Science and Technology Conference, this time held in Washington, DC. The conference brought together high-level officials, scientists and engineers from the U.S. and Poland and was aimed to foster collaboration in key areas of innovation and high technologies.
Ms. Ilona Antoniszyn- Klik, Undersecretary of Economy of the Republic of Poland delivered the welcome address. The program also included remarks by Bogusław Winid, Undersecretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and keynote addresses by Poland’s Ambassador to the U.S. Ryszard Schnepf and U.S. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.
The Conference explored the potential for bilateral cooperation in space research, aeronautics, propulsion technologies, energy research and defense industries. These areas of mutual interest were discussed in five sessions extending over two days. They involved specialists from such key U.S. and Polish institutions as NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center, DARPA, General Electric, Rytheon, National Center for Research and Development (Poland), Warsaw Technical University, Gdańsk Technical University and many others.
