World Down Syndrome Day. A conference on \"Right to Work\" took place at the UN headquarters in New York.

For the second year in a row Poland took active part in celebrations of the World Down Syndrome Day (21 March). On this occasion a conference on “Right to Work” took place at the UN headquarters in New York.

One of the main organizers of the Conference was Down Syndrome International. Poland was among co-sponsors of this event together with Australia, Brazil, Japan, India, UNDESA and UNICEF. The conference was attended by the representatives of governments, civil society and people with Down syndrome. 

Ambassador Ryszard Sarkowicz, Permanent Representative of Poland to the UN, delivered a speech during the opening of the conference.

On the day preceding the official event at the UN, Mission of Australia hosted a reception for the participants of the conference. Amb. R. Sarkowicz opened the reception on behalf of the co-sponsors of the initiative.
