Portal Polska.pl won Mobile Trends Awards (MTA)

13 lutego, 2015

The winner was on 12 February announced at an evening gala ceremony in Krakow

The Polska.pl portal run by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs won Mobile Trends Awards for the best domestic mobile portal.

The fourth Mobile Trends Awards (MTA) were announced during the Mobile Trends Conference held in Krakow. Apart from the new Polska.pl portal, designed by the Publicis agency, the award committee made up of experts in new technologies nominated the following in the MTA Best Portal category: Onet.pl for m.onet.pl, Wirtualna Polska for www.wp.pl, and Interia.pl for m.interia.pl.

A revamped Polska.pl/Poland.pl, the official promotional website of Poland, was launched on 12 December 2014. It offers not only extensive photo galleries and information about Poland’s most precious historical sites, interesting regions, and important cultural and economic events. It also comes with handy features that will make sightseeing our country easier.

“Our users won’t be bored. We’ll be showing them all that is fascinating, extraordinary and beautiful about our country. You’ll learn about Poland through the stories of remarkable Poles. Mostly those who are building and developing our country today, but without forgetting about those without whom Poland would have vanished from the world map and those who have helped Poland enter the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Grzegorz Schetyna, speaking at the launch event for the portal.

The first edition of a portal designed to promote Poland was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Polska.gov.pl/Poland.gov.pl in 2004. The next version opened in 2009. In May 2014, the Ministry acquired the attractive Polska.pl and Poland.pl internet addresses, which started to host Poland’s promotional portal, at that time still in the old layout.
