Polish American Congress launches drive to aid Katowice roof victims
Andrew Kaminski (right)

Andrew Kaminski (right) helps to kickoff the Polish American Congress Downstate New York Division’s fund raising drive to aid the victims of the recent roof collapse tragedy in Katowice, Poland.

He is shown here handing his personal check to Frank Milewski, president of the New York PAC. Mr. Kaminski is an attorney whose office is on Greenpoint Ave. in Brooklyn. He also serves as a director of both the Downstate Congress and the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union.

Nearly 70 people were killed and hundreds injured when the roof of a convention hall in that city caved in from the weight of the cumulated snow in the brutally cold winter Poland and Europe are suffering this year.

Donations to the PAC fund are tax-deductible. Checks should be made payable to:
Polish American Congress Charitable Foundation/Katowice
and mailed to either:

Polish American Congress
Downstate N.Y. Division
177 Kent St.
Brooklyn, N.Y. 11222

or
Polish American Congress
National Office
5711 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60646
“The roof collapse was a tragedy for Poland. It would also be a tragedy if those of us who have the financial ability to help neglected to do it,” said Kaminski.
