Biggest Storylines this Season so far in Football (1)

1. RB Leipzig top the Bundesliga
RB Leipzig was always going to be considered a side that will be near the top of the table, especially with the amount of money lined up behind them as they are owned by the marketing giants of Redbull. Their incredible rise from the bottom of German professional club football has been topped with their position as the summit of the Bundesliga. After Bayern Munich fell 1-0 to Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig’s earlier impressive away 3-2 win against Leverkusen was enough to keep the gap at three points between them and the Bavarians. There is still much to be seen, as Bayern and Leipzig have yet to play each other this season. Until then, Leipzig have already given a great account of themselves - for now, and for the future to come.

2. Chelsea are Favorites for the League
With all the talk of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal becoming the most likely title contenders this season; it’s Chelsea that has grown to look to be favorites now. After having disastrous losses against Arsenal and Liverpool, Antonio Conte’s men have regrouped and now have gone on an incredible run, now having a total of 9 wins, 1 draw, and the 2 aforementioned losses. Among those wins, they destroyed Mourinho’s Manchester United 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Conte has tinkered with their lineup, as he has now gone with a three-in-the-back system. This has allowed further involvement with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso as wingbacks. They now have the best home record and the strongest defense in the league, a strong foundation for any side to win the league. Without European football and only having to worry about the FA cup, Chelsea can afford to play their strongest sides matchday after matchday.

3. Inter Milan’s Dramatic Fall
After what looked to be a strong transfer window, Internazionale have had a dramatic fall from the top of the table. Signing the likes of Candreva and Banega were strong signals of a more serious and experienced Inter this season. They currently are 9th in Serie A, for a team talented enough to challenge for the Champions league spots, and have just been dropped out of the group stages in the Europa league, a first-time occurrence for the team. Frank de Boer was sacked early on, even though the team had a favorable win against Juventus in the beginning stages of the season. For now, they lie eight points off the top three.
