First Marcin Gortat Sport Camp in the US

A basketball camp for children ages 9-13 led by Washington Wizards starting center Marcin Gortat will be held in Washington, DC. The event is being organized as part of the 2016 Euro Kids Festival.

On November 6, Marcin Gortat together with his teammates from the Washington Wizards and professional coaches from Poland will lead a basketball training camp for children from the Washington, DC metro area. Participating children, in addition to meeting Poland's NBA star, will sharpen their basketball skills and learn about the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle and how to work toward attaining their goals in life. The training will concluded with a scrimmage between the best participants of the camp and a team of Polish children who were selected during this year's editions of Marcin Gortat Camp in Poland. All participants will receive special prizes.

For the past nine years, Marcin Gortat's MG13 Foundation has organized basketball camps for children in Poland, promoting sports, fair play, and inspiring participants to reach new heights. This year, for the first time, children in Washington, D.C metro area will have an opportunity to meet Marcin Gortat and become inspired by his accomplishments, both on and off the court.

Kids Euro Festival is a two-week long festival of European arts and culture presenting free activities to D.C. metro area children and their families. There are performances, concerts, workshops, movies, storytelling, and more... And its all brought to you by the 28 European Union Member States!

The event is being organized by Marcin Gortat's MG13 Foundation, The Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Cultural Institute in New York, in cooperation with the European Union Delegation in Washington, D.C. The Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge is a partner of this event.
