New York City Football Club beat Orlando City in MLS Thriller

Michael Skok     28 lipca, 2015

Goals from David Villa, Mix Diskerud, Thomas MacNamara and Javier Calle were enough to put NYCFC on top against Orlando FC. Despite a hatrick from Cyle Larin, NYCFC beat the team from Florida 5-3. Pirlo’s debut was also widely met with applause and cheers as the 36 year old Italian, fresh off a successful season with Juventus, imposed himself on the pitch with wonderful passes towards the likes of David Villa and Kwadwo Poku.

New York City’s head manager Jason Kreis can be pleased with his team’s overall performance, however the defense still remains a big concern. Conceding three goals at home only comes weeks after NYCFC conceded four goals against Toronto FC (where Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco scored his own hattrick) for the final score of 4-4. Still, the newborne club’s faithful have plenty to look forward to as the addition of Pirlo has added much more incisiveness and quality in midfield, as well as David Villa’s sensational form and the imminent involvement of Frank Lampard.

Jason Kreis’ men now look to play Montreal Impact at Yankee Stadium on the August 1st.
